Sometimes all you need to do is press the start button and your head is free. When the engine comes to life and the road passes by me, there is just this moment. No noise in my head, not one thought too many. Just the moment. For me, riding a scooter means getting out of those daily routines and into clarity. It’s the feeling of being in control and letting go at the same time. Every bend is a new decision, every route is a unique journey. And when the day comes to an end and I get off with a dirty windscreen and a quiet smile on my face, I know that I did exactly the right thing.

I am repeatedly drawn out into the world. Not to tick off the sights, but to immerse myself. Preferably to those remote corners of the world with breathtaking nature. I think you realise a lot about yourself when you’re miles away from everything familiar. Travelling makes me humble and continuously curious. It shows me how different life paths can be and that there is never just one perspective. I’m not travelling to get away. I’m travelling to take a closer look.

I never know what to expect when I’m on an event. And yet I’m ready: No matter when, no matter where. Helping others in difficult situations makes a difference for me. I learnt to listen, to act, to radiate calm when it matters. Sometimes a quick look, a few clear words, a firm grip is enough. Other times, you just have to be there. For me, this voluntary work means more than just helping. It means taking on responsibility. Not because I have to, but because I can.
